An exciting series of workshops for young people aged 13-16 to learn
professional acting techniques including tableaux, improvisation, character
work and devising. The group will be able to explore themes of their choice
to create original performances.

R'n'B Dance
Lucy Bailey
This beginner’s class in jazz and street dance teaches up to the minute styles found
in chart and R’n’B music videos. Lucy from dance trio Sistaz of Vision does a warm
up plus a new step-bystep R’n’B routine each week.

Egyptian Dance - Intermediate
Yvonne Mahdy
Called Raos Sharqi in Arabic and sometimes known as Belly Dance in English, this Eastern dance class is a fun, empowering form of movement that loosens joints, builds lower back muscles, and brings relaxation and well being.

Drum Clinic

This class is for anyone interested in playing rhythms from West Afrika, birth place of the
Djembe, as well as South Africa and the Caribbean. A popular and relaxing way to share
cultural history, the group also play at many events around the city. There is a limited
number of spare drums, please bring your own if possible.

Sambando
Sambando play and teach a range of Brazilian based street rhythms and perform at festivals and events
all over Leicestershire and beyond. Experienced samba drummers may join the resident group but they
