Education

The Michael John Henry Centre at Aylestone currently offers residents the opportunity to achieve qualifications to help prepare them for future training, education or employment. Many learners have progressed to other courses with Endeavour Training, STRIDE and Princes Trust as well as local colleges and e2e courses.

In 2007, over 50 young people made positive choices and took ownership of a number of projects, including the Groundwork Garden Project and designing the communal area, which was transformed into a 50's style diner. We are currently working with local schools on the environmental garden project aimed at young people at risk of exclusion.

A young woman fleeing domestic violence moved into the Aylestone Centre and has now secured her own accommodation, studies full time and has ongoing contact with the resettlement team.
