14/48

The Y is proud to be working in partnership with 14/48 Seattle to bring together an exciting project that promises to deliver "the world's quickest theatre festival!"

Following the success of Leicesterís first festival in 2013, 14/48 is back! Dedicated to creating 7 original works, written, directed and rehearsed in just 24 hours. Repeating the whole process the very next day! Through the day there is a stringent deadline, very few resources and a whole lot of creativity to see where the participantís combined creative processes lead them!

But quality theatre quickly coaxed through deadlines and a live audience is only half of the idea behind the festival. The other half revolves around the concept of community. 14/48 is a great networking opportunity for the artists involved; bringing together actors, writers, musicians, designers and directors from across Leicestershire and the Midlands. 14/48 is dedicated to creating a supportive environment for artistic collaboration, while forging new connections between artists and artistic disciplines.
