The on-line booking facility is available 24 hours a day. There is a booking fee of 60p per ticket, plus 55p per booking if you would like your tickets to be posted. From the What's On page choose 'More Info' next to your event. If there is an option to book on-line you'll see a 'Buy Tickets' button.

The Y Theatre box office is open for bookings by phone or in person:
  • Monday to Thursday 9am - 8.30pm
  • Friday 9am - 5.30pm
  • Saturday 2pm - 6pm
  • Sunday 10am - 2pm
  • up to 9pm on event nights
There is a 50p charge per booking for postage and a 50p charge per debit/ credit card transaction. For postal bookings please send a cheque payable to 'Leicester YMCA' and details of your booking to the Box Office at the address above.


Tickets are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances.


Reservations made via the box office will be held for 4 days or 1 hour before the performance start time, whichever is sooner, on provision of a name and telephone number. Bookings not paid for will be removed after this time. Reservations can not be made via the internet.

Ticket Options

The Y Theatre has a flexible downstairs auditorium and a fixed seating balcony. The auditorium can easily be converted to accommodate standing music gigs, relaxed cabaret nights or stalls seating in rows. Some events will be reserved and others unreserved, therefore it is advisable to check at the time of booking. For unreserved events your ticket will be designated for either the balcony or downstairs. Standing in the balcony is not permitted during performances. Please note that times given are 'on stage' times.

Group Booking

For many events we offer a free ticket for every 9 purchased. For groups of 10 we can reserve a table, where the seating is cabaret style. Please contact the box office to make a group booking.


Concessions are available with proof of eligibility where a reduced price is given in The Y's brochure or on our website. Unless otherwise stated concession tickets are available for children up to 16, students, people unemployed and in receipt of benefits, senior citizens, and Stars members. Please show appropriate identification when collecting tickets. Concessions can be purchased on the internet or over the telephone however tickets must be collected in person with appropriate identification.

Access Information

Age Suitability: Some events are suitable for specific age groups only. We try to provide accurate descriptions and recommendations to help with this. Please let our helpful Box Office staff know if you require any further information or assistance.

The Y Theatre Bar

The Y Theatre is equipped with a licensed bar which is open during performances. Drinks can be taken into the venue. Adults should be prepared to show ID to prove they are 18 or over when buying alcohol. No children under the age of 14 may enter the bar area while alcohol is being served.

General Terms

The Y Theatre reserves the right to:
  • Refuse ticket holders entrance or ask them to leave the venue/building
  • Introduce or change special offers, ticket prices and fees
  • Change the location of a ticket without prior notice
Advance permission should be sought from the venue for the use of flash photography or filming equipment.
