Curly Strings, an award-winning four-piece band, draws inspiration from American bluegrass and their own personal heritage in the current Estonian cultural space. Intense and playful ensemble work, hauntingly beautiful melodies and heartfelt execution of their music form the main basis of the Curly Strings soundscape.
The warm-up band, ÖÖ (“Night”), have come together from far and wide to produce a repertoire inspired by folk and cultural experiences spanning several generations.
This concert forms part of the European Estonian Song and Dance Festival V, an event taking the audience on a musical journey through the last 100 years of Estonian history and bringing together Estonian musicians and dancers from 15 European countries to Leicester for the weekend.
